A Breakthrough

So every night when I go to bed, I stick in my Group1Crew cd from forever ago. For those of you who don't know who they are, they're a Christian hip hop group with amazing music if you ask me. ( http://www.group1crew.com ) check 'em out.

Anyways, I've been listening to it the past few nights, and they have some pretty heavy hard hitting lyrics. Especially in the song entitled "Forgive Me". In this song the man talks about how he's on both sides. The world, and God. He talks about how hard it is to do what's right and how he struggles.

"I’m calling for help and watching it melt away
My heart’s been put on display and put away
In many ways, many times I told myself it was okay
And anger was the price that was paid
While these faded dreams just screamed to bring them home."

BUT. He also gives credit to God for seeing him through it all, and giving him the strength to carry on and being able to continue the fight.

"Lord though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I’m not scared cause You’re holding my breath
I only fear that I don’t have enough time left
To tell the world that there’s no time left."

For so long I've been on the fence. Giving my all on Wednesday nights, only to go home and fall again.
For so long I've thought that I'm not good enough to serve my God.
For so long I've cried wondering what he could possibly do with a man like me.
For so long I've thought there was no hope.

But I know that my God has a plan for me.
I know there's a fire in me just waiting to be lit.
I know that I'm going to change the world. Even if it's just the world of one person.

Father, forgive me for doubting.

"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him."
Jeremiah 17:7

"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:"
Lamentations 3:21

I have hope.

Here's the link to the song if you'd like to listen to it. It's helped me a lot, and I hope it can help you.
